Parent Consultation
Parent coaching always starts with a parent-coach meeting in which the goals for the coaching are determined
· Parents explains in detail what their parenting style is,
· How the child responds to the parenting style,
· What the common parent-child conflicts are,
· What child’s behaviors the parent would like to see change, etc.
Parent-Child Observation
The parent coach observes at the time of the day that parent and child experience frequent conflicts situations (bed time, getting out the door in the morning etcetera).
Parent Coaching
The parent coach helps the parent implement alternative parenting skills so that the child changes their unacceptable behaviors and conflicts stay solved.
· Learn to separate when the child owns the problem, when you own the problem, and when both of you have a conflict of needs.
· Learn to deal with the differences between parent’s acceptance of the child’s behavior.
· Learn effective communication and conflict resolution alternatives to typical ways parents respond to their children’s unacceptable behavior.
· Learn how you can help your child regain self-confidence, self control, and feel less frustrated throughout the day.
· Implement changes to the environment to prevent recurring problem.
Pricing
· The parents and the coach together determine how many hours / days the consultation will take during the first parent-coach meeting.
· $85 per hour, $155 two hours, $215 three hours
Although there are short 1-2 hour parent coaching sessions typically the parent meetings take 2 hours, the parent child observation 1 half day, and the parent coaching 1-2 full days.
